ROLE OF SCLEROSING AGENT IN THE MANAGEMENT OF ORAL SOFT TISSUE GROWTHS- A CASE REPORT SERIES

Soft tissue enlargements of the oral cavity frequently present a diagnostic challenge because a varied group of pathologic processes can produce such lesions. Within these lesions is a group of reactive hyperplasias, which develop in response to a chronic, recurring tissue injury that stimulates an exuberant or excessive tissue repair response. Peripheral Giant Cell Granuloma (PGCG) is one of the most frequent giant cell lesions of the jaws. Treatment involves surgical resection with extensive clearing of the base of the lesion to avoid recurrence. However if the lesion is too big in size, then reduction in size of the lesion by sclerotherapy gives better results and reduces the chances of recurrence. This paper showcases some cases managed in this fashion.
